Update– Just a note to let you know what's up.

I was working on drawings for a project on Rwanda (illustration only) but unfortunately the publisher could not come up with adequate funding so here are some unfinished drawings from that project.
Yesterday completed a 5 page graphic story my agent will try to sell...
and have FINALLY, MAYBE, DEFINITELY begun researching material for a new book– something different for me.

Scotty Reifsnyder

It’s a pleasure to feature Scotty Reifsnyder this week. I remember he was a hardworking, super talented student. He took every project in stride and always had a smile on his face.

Originally from rural and rustic Lancaster, Pennsylvania Scotty graduated with a BFA is Communication Design from Kutztown University in 2001. After working for 4 years he attended Tyler School of Art's MFA program in Graphic & Interactive Design, graduating in 2007. Scotty is always pursuing projects that utilize his mid-century design and illustration sensibilities. Upon graduation from Tyler Scotty spent the next 3 years working for Paul Kepple at the award-winning studio Headcase Design. Under Paul's direction Scotty worked on projects for such high profile clients as the rapper Eminem, Bravo TV, books for the Broadway shows Spring Awakening and Wicked. He also illustrated for clients the likes of GQ, Time Magazine, The Boston Globe, The New Yorker, The New York Times and Wired.

Scotty's work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Print Magazine and American Illustration. Recently he's been honored to have work shown in German publisher Gestalten’s Naive: Modernism and Folklore in Contemporary Graphic Design as well as their publication entitled Illusive: Contemporary Illustration Part III. Most recently Scotty's Heroes of Folk Series has been has been selected by the 2011 Communication Arts jury to appear in it's Illustration Annual 52.

Besides client projects Scotty currently teaches illustration and design at the University of Pennsylvania. When not working you can either find him spending time with the family, walking the dog or playing Sly and the Family Stone bass lines out in the garage.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Took a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art to see the Chagall and the Roberto Capucci exhibits. They’re both wonderful shows– highly recommended.
Monica and I got an extra added treat when we got the chance to meet world famous Italian fashion designer Roberto Capucci in the flesh. I don’t usually ask for autographs, but I couldn’t resist.
